Metalika: yacht and ship interiors, project by project

Metalika from Sevnica has been building and installing interior fit-outs for large ships and mega and super yachts since 2002. Every project is custom-made, and all sales are exports.

Metalika chose Etrust PIS because we are specialists in production processes. Before deciding, they looked at how Etrust PIS works together with the Odoo ERP at Tehnos. Quotes, sales orders and invoices stay in Odoo, while project production from engineering to the workshop and calculations runs in Etrust PIS.

What custom project manufacturing has to master

  • Every project is unique; there is no standard product.
  • Engineering is done in spreadsheets and has to reach production without retyping.
  • The own cost of a project must be known before production and after completion.
  • Time and material from the workshop must be recorded on the project, not on slips.
  • Quotes, sales and invoicing run in the Odoo ERP.

How Metalika works with Etrust PIS

  • The order from Odoo becomes a project

    The sales order from Odoo arrives in Etrust PIS as a project order, and a project with all positions is created from it. Nobody retypes orders.

  • Engineering from Excel

    Engineering BOMs of the project are imported from spreadsheets and are the basis for the routing of every position.

  • Project routing and release

    The routing is prepared for the project, and work orders for all project positions are released from it.

  • Project pre-calculation

    The own cost of the project is calculated from routing and material before production starts.

  • MES in the workshop

    Workers start and finish operations on control centers (Start & Stop), and time and consumption are captured on the project without paper.

  • Project post-calculation

    Actual times and consumption from the workshop show what the project really cost, not an estimate.

  • Odoo stays for sales and invoices

    Etrust PIS does not duplicate the ERP: quotes, sales orders and invoices stay in Odoo, and production in Etrust PIS.
